Au Sommet: an ode to Montreal
More than 600 feet above Montreal stands one of our most recent projects. In this first of a six part series on Au Sommet Place Ville Marie, discover how a love for our city was the spark that started it all.
It's Been a Journey
A couple of years in the making, Au Sommet Place Ville Marie is very dear to our hearts and we’re so proud to finally share it with our city. Standing on the 46th floor of this Montreal landmark, and looking out at the incredible view, we can't help but feel proud - of how far this project has come and of the many people who had a hand in making it happen. It's safe to say that everyone here at GSM contributed to the project at one point or another.
We're proud of our city and more importantly, we're proud to be Montrealers.
55 Portraits of Daily Life in Montreal
When we first sat down to brainstorm the direction of an exhibition celebrating Montreal, dozens of emblems came to mind - like hockey, jazz or bagels. But we were soon reminded that this city is so much more than just symbols. First and foremost, Montreal is its people.
The interactive exhibition, entitled #MTLGO, is a collection of 55 intimate portraits of daily life in Montreal. When you arrive on the 45th floor of Place Ville Marie, the view beyond the glass windows is brought to life by interactive sights and sounds telling stories of the people that live in this city. These short films reveal the invisible, recounting first hand stories hailing from every corner of Montreal.
It was so important to us that the exhibition spark in people a desire to explore the city beyond the limits of the tower's four walls. That's why visitors can like their favorite stories and receive a personalized set of missions as they leave, inviting them to discover parts of the city they've never seen before.
